» Inexpensive Water Leak Detection : Flood-Alarm

Flood-Alarm units were developed to provide great value single-zone security against the ingress of water into areas housing high- technology or high-value equipment. They use the Wayscale linear AC field sensing system and can be wall mounted using a single screw fixing. To get them running, all that's required is a mains power supply, and a length of water detection cable. Also very suitable for light industrial and domestic applications. Two sizes of units are available: 

:: The Flood-Alarm 10 which comes with 10m of water detection cable or

:: The Flood-Alarm 20 which comes with 20m of water detection cable and a signalling change-over relay. 

Units with 'leader cable' and up to 50m of detection cable are available to order. The Flood-Alarm controller has three levels of LED indication: power on, line fault and water!

An audible alarm is activated by any abnormal condition and is silenced by pressing the mute button. The alarm system automatically resets but the lights remain on until the condition clears. If detection cable 'continuity 'is lost due to damage for example, a 'line fault' light illuminates - however detection prior to the break will continue.

Wayscale's Flood-Guard and Water-Guard units are generally similar but are more often used in  applications requiring single or multiple 'spot probe' or 'pad' sensors including cistern, tank, overflow, or rain water detection / alarms.
