» Intelligent Linear Water Leak
Detection : The LEAKLOKATOR
The LEAKLOKATOR is Wayscale's state-of-the-art 'intelligent' linear
leak-location system. It has been designed from the outset to
protect extremely large areas, with a number of our clients opting
to protect whole towerblocks with LEAKLOKATOR systems.
The majority of LEAKLOKATORs sold are for installation in computer
complexes, telephone exchanges and dealer-floors. However a number
of consultants have specified LEAKLOKATORs to protect buildings of
national importance including a series of government buildings,
museums, and libraries.
The system is quite unique in monitoring a
network of up to 3000m of sensor cable, 'teed'
as required. It has multiple simultaneous alarm
activation, from all Wayscale linear and probe
sensors, and it indicates the nature of the leak
in alphanumeric text with the precise location
of the alarm [i.e. Upper Roof; Water Tank #2
or Basement; Boiler-Pipe @10m]
The control unit is linked by a single data
cable to remote 'intelligent nodes' in the areas
being monitored, to which are connected the
water detection cables or sensors.
Unlike competitive 'distance measurement'
systems (which are generally limited to advising
only one or two leaks), the LEAKLOKATOR can display all
its 60 / 128 leaks simultaneously. The LEAKLOKATOR is
also 'reactive' and can prevent water damage by
activating 'relay nodes' adjacent to the alarm
to provide selective software-driven valve or
power system shutdown facilities. The LEAKLOKATOR is provided
with a 'history log' which stores the date and time each alarm
starts and finishes.
The LEAKLOKATOR is provided with n/v relays for
common alarm, common fault, autodial, and power
fault, and can also be provided with an adjacent
BMS interface relay panel or a full graphics
mimic panel with sector alarm locator lights.
