» Multi Zone Flood Prevention System - CWD4:
The well established Aqualeak single and multizone CWD range of
Water Leak Detection Systems provides security against ingress of
water into areas housing high technology equipment, archive records,
irreplaceable art/historical treasures, computer rooms, plant rooms,
hospital areas, telephone exchanges, etc.
Although the CWD in standard form can provide water shutdown via the
designated ‘shutdown relay’, this requires the valve/s to be
mains powered and controlled from outside. For this reason Aqualeak
can provide the CWD range in the ‘VS’ variant which includes
powering and controlling of the valves directly from the CWD
cabinet. The valves and the water detection system are therefore
supplied as a matched composite system. Monitoring would generally
be by linear sensor cable fitted in the false floor void.
A typical application for the multizone CWD 4 Unit could be a
computer room with four air conditioning units. The requirement
could be to monitor the four A/C units for leaks and, if a leak is
detected, to provide immediate shutdown of the water supply
only to the leaking A/C unit. Monitoring would be specific to
four zones and control would be specific to four valves.
The CWD control system would be provided with a valve power supply
unit providing 24VAC to the solenoid valves in the incoming water
supply pipes to each air conditioning unit. Each zone reports
individually back to the controller and each zone controls the valve
entirely independently. When a leak is detected, the valve
shuts immediately, and stays shut, automatically resetting when the
flood is cleared.
As the clearing of any water leak could take some time, the valve
supply system would be provided with an individual valve key switch
override system to allow manual reset of each valve separately.
Should the leak not be a problem and if the situation is under
control, turning the key to the ‘Override’ position would allow
the water to be turned on again even if the water detection system
is still in ‘alarm’ and ‘holding’ the valve closed.
In view of Aqualeak's extensive experience in this field, all our
Water Detection Systems can be tailored to provide monitoring of any
number of zones and controlling multiple valves as required by any specific
project design.
